About this event
This is a ladies-only drive! Porsches only!
Attention PCA Lady drivers! Gather with your fellow females for a drive to Arizona’s gem of desert botanical fascination, the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The drive will commence from Mesa, and we’ll arrive at the arboretum mid-morning, when you will be free to explore the extensive collection of desert plants along the trails, gardens, and exhibits featuring specimens from all over the world.
After exploring the arboretum, we will take the short drive into Superior for lunch at the Silver King Smokehouse.
“Nestled in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Boyce Thompson Arboretum stands as a testament to the beauty and diversity of the natural world. Founded in the early 1920s by mining magnate
William Boyce Thompson, the Arboretum was born out of a deep appreciation and wonder of plant life. Today, it is Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden, spanning over 320 acres of breathtaking landscapes.
Visitors are invited to explore our themed gardens, each offering a unique glimpse into different ecological niches. From the Australian Desert to the South American Collection, our gardens are teeming with life. The Arboretum is also a sanctuary for wildlife, with frequent sightings of butterflies and other desert dwellers.” — https://btarboretum.org
Bring your sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots so you can best experience the trails and viewpoints throughout the arboretum grounds.
The arboretum entry fee is $24.95, which you will pay on arrival. You will order and pay for your own lunch at the restaurant in Superior.
NOTE: Only drivers should register. You can list a passenger (ladies only) when you register, but they should not register if they are not driving their own car.
